I took my exam yesterday on 19/1/2012 and passed with a score of a 953.
a lot of LABs came in my exam : ALL labs except EIGRP Stub !
the rest of questions from the latest P4S ( either PDF or VCE )
there was about 5 questions related to IPv6
and BGP also had a lot of questions, overall it was a good exam and especially a very good course as it contains a lot of thinking and u feel that u use ur mind a lot ( exactly opposite to SWITCH )

Passed 642-902 on 20 Jan (965).
The exam experience was pretty dreadful. As I recall many of the commands I thought I needed for the scenarios wouldn’t work (eg source address for ping or traceroute). I don’t think I have ever seen a less impressive simulator engine (eg the routes in the OSPF lab took for ever to appear).
The labs were EIGRP redistrib (made to look different) , OSPF v3 virt link, PBR and OSPF totally stubby/incomplete config. All from Digitaltut.
Questions mostly from nonenity. A random one from a yet another multipoint v6 to v4 tunnel method not in the books I looked at. A big thank you for a great effort, nonenity. It is appreciated.The Wendell Odom exam certification library book is excellent. It sent me to sleep many times but I found it very helpful.

I passed on 18th Jan 2012. Exam was almost from the same 322 Qs of Actual Test. Only 1 question was new that was a drag and drop question for all LSA Type (Which LSA type will correspond which kind of area). One more thing to mention that in “EIGRP OSPF Redistribution Sim”, it is clearly mentioned that R1 needs to choose best path to R4. So it should be via R2->R3->R4 instead of R2->R4 becuase connection between R2 to R3 and R3 to R4 is 100000 Kbit bandwidth. while connection from R2 to R4 is serial connection of just 1540 Kbit bandwidth. There is an extra configuration that i’ve applied on R2 to accomplish this goal. it is following:
R2(config)#router ospf 1
R2(config-router)#distance ospf inter-area 171
Confirm the action by running traceroute from R1 to 172.16.100.1/24 network. It should go via R2->R3->R4.
this goal can also be achieved by doing the following configuration on R2 instead the above one:
R2(config)#router eigrp 100
R2(config-router)#distance eigrp 90 110

You should not use the ip summary-address eigrp summarization command to generate the default route (0.0.0.0) from an interface. This causes the creation of an EIGRP summary default route to the null 0 interface with an administrative distance of 5.

Had a thing in the OSPF Stub sim – after configuring the STUB on one router and Stub No summary on the second one , the Ping from the first Router wasn’t successful to the loopback interface on the 3rd router.

BGP uses the AS_PATH attribute for loop detection. If a router sees its own AS number in a BGP advertisement, the advertisement is dropped. IBGP routers have the same AS number so the AS number cannot be used for loop detection. IBGP neighbors will not advertise prefixes learned from one IBGP neighbor to another IBGP neighbor; therefore, a full mesh is required.

Yes that is Correct. But in the lab they dont specify you to be precise with your summarization. So why go through the hassle of Subnetting when you have the easier option :)
But you are correct you can use that summary-address command too.
thanks actuarial.I think,i am a little confused with….ibgp needs not be directly connected for neighbor relation..thats right..so fully meshed is different thing than directly connected.Ebgp has to be directly connected for neighbor relation.

RFC 1918 is the name given Private addresses.
If you look at the the question it is first assigning a tag of 255 to the prefix list on the ASBR(which lists the private addresses)
Then look in the ABR, it is denying all routes that match the tag 255.
Hence we can conclude that the OSPF backbone will not learn the private address(RFC 1918) which are denied by the prefix list on the ABR

hi guys, in taking cisco exams, is there rules on dates or days interval after taking an exam? like for example,,if i took exam today will it be okay if i take another exam the next week? lets assume i passed my exam today???,,coz if you fail you need to wait 180 days before you can retake the exam but how about if you passed the exam will be okay to take another different exam in just a shot period???,,is it allowed????,,thank you very much

All the 5 labs were included on today’s exams. I struggle on the redistribution and ipv6 topics for I was not able to review the said topics thoroughly. But thank God, I still managed to pass the exam.

Hello everybody, I am from Tunisia the cradle of the arab spring. I have passed the exam today and got 1000/1000 (I’m so happy). I had 50 questions (all from the latest ActualTests and Nonentity : 0 new questions), 4 labs : Redistribution (it was the latest question in the exam : question n° 50), virtual links (the ping command doesn’t work), OSPF lab , and PBR lab . I had some pain with the keyboard (it write strange characters) but I managed to overcome this obstacle. Overall it was an easy exam but the difficulty is in the preparation of this exam because you must definitely understand the concepts and not learn the responses by heart.
I would like to thank this site, the people who have shared their experience before me because I learnt a lot from them, and a last thank to those who have made the labs in GNS3 because practicing the labs is VERY VERY importants.

I agree with Anonymous, this section is only to share our exam experience, but i even believe in helping others. Maybe the site moderators can add a section call ASK YOUR QUESTIONS! It will help.
To all my fellow Route studiers, although i appreciate the hard work the this site and Dump makers are doing, its not going to benefit you all if you just pass by dumping. If you really want to be a network engineer and have a busy life on the side, u can still learn by working hard. This is how i studied for this exam
1. CBT – Nuggets
2. Official Certification Learning Guide – Wendell Odom (Read once)
3. Foundation Learning (Read Once)
4. Noentity + DigitalTUT (The first time i did the questions i scored 890 (because of what i did above)
Then i polished my knowledge in the questions i got wrong. And today i found the exam to be Fair and passed with maximum points.

Yes you are 100% right. For a network engineer, he/she must be strong in ideas and concepts for which I think inetstudies is a better option. I passed my route exam using their own written practical guides. I must say awesome. You dont you have a look on that.
For theory, above mentioned books are good enough but CCNA Study guide by Todd Lammle and Cisco Press Self Study Intro Exam Certification guides can also help to get massive knowledge.

1-reply packet by RTP are unicast ,uses the Reliable Transport Protocol (RTP) to handle the guaranteed and reliable delivery of EIGRP packets to neighbors.
2- Hello and ACK packets are unreliable. Reply, Query, and Update packets are reliable.
