Tasks

Configure four switches with RSTP (802.1w) mode as discribed.

Please type configuration commands here:

1. Switch 1 and 2 should run spanning tree in 802.1w mode.
(1)

2. Configure Switch 1 to be the root bridge & Switch 2 the secondary root bridge for VLAN 10 without using "priority" command.
(2)
(3)

3. Ensure that Switches 3 and 4 can never become root bridges for any VLANs for which Switch 1 and Switch 2 are root bridges, by configuring only Switches 1 and 2. Do not use the "priority" command for this task.

(4)

4. Configure the ports on SW1 that are connected to routers (suppose from Fa0/1 to Fa0/6) to bypass listening and learning state.

(5)

5. The company wants to group fa0/23 & fa0/24 on Sw1 & Sw2 into one link without creating bridging loops. If one link in the group fails, traffic sent through that link is automatically moved to an adjacent link in the bundle without any interruption. Don't use any negotiation protocol for this task.

(6)

6. Configure trunking encapsulation on all links connected between switches only using an industry standard protocol:

(7)

7. Configure a trunk between Sw1 and Sw3 using their F0/19 interfaces and:
+ Configure F0/19 on Sw1 into permanent Trunking mode and it should negotiate to convert the neighboring interface into a Trunk.

(8)
+ Configure F0/19 on Sw3 to negotiate a trunk only if it receives negotiation packets from a neighbor. This port should never start the negotiation process.

(9)

8. Configure a trunk between Sw2 and Sw4 using their F0/19 interfaces. This port should be configured to actively attempt to convert the link to a Trunk. It should not be in permanent trunking mode.

(10)

9. Configure trunking mode between SW2 and SW3 using interface F0/21; these ports should not use DTP to negotiate a trunk.
