I am taking the exam in couple weeks. and its long time since I took any cisco exam. what is the environment in LABs? is it real simulator, dose TAB works?

I passed today studied 1.2 and did some reading on the tutorials here…. please note there are a lot of new MCQs around 15 though if you understood the questions/answers/explanations for all the 1.2 questions it’s easy to figure out

on the labs my main advice to understand and know the proper show commands as well for as another verification step aside from the configurations

actual questions, there were a handful or less that I don’t remember seeing, but most of them are here. I’ve occasionally done the 100 questions, and only passed once. I mainly used the 20 questions multiple times daily.

sat on my exam today and passed

-1.5 Months prep time. 2 weeks to read over the materials

-1month of running the big composite quiz 1-3 times a day and learn from the wrong answers you gave

-1 week before the exam, ran through the labs 2-3 times nothing more. I feel like if I ran too many times muscle memory might make me fail the lab (e.g. typing the wrong IP address because the requirement section changed the ip address. you need to understand the objective, how to get there and know what you are doing.

I got the netflow sim where you need to create an HTTP GET ip sla probe, never got it to work, cant even ping the destination ip. but seems I got full credits for it.

I just left the exam center and wanted to share my experience with you.

I had the same six labs, but I got VRF 1 instead of VRF Finance. I also got NetFlow 2 with the same numbers and settings. For the CoPP access list, it was OSPF instead of EIGRP, but overall, the labs were about 95% identical.

I got three drag-and-drop questions, which were very easy, and I had already seen them in Part V1.2. Other than that, I had about 10 JSON and automation questions.

I checked my percentages, and they were around 50–60%, but as long as you tackle the labs, you should be good to go!

passed today, labs are same as mentioned.
i highly recommend study the v1.1 part 4 – 7 . i got around 8 questions from v1.1 ( go through them )
around 5 questions new but if you UNDERSTAND the Questions in v1.2 you will pass.

I passed the exam. Most of the questions were from the v1.2 study material, but there were several new questions.

These are the ones I remember:
Matching with IP Protocol 88 (EIGRP) and Protocol 89 (OSPF).
Multiple choice asking about CAPWAP encapsulation over-the-top of SD-Access.
Multiple choice about HSRP preempt delay (standby 1 preempt delay minimum xxx)

I spent 1 month reading the different topics and free questions.

Then 2 months practicing 1.1 and 1.2 questions including LABs.

Learn your concepts well…got MANY SD-Access questions so master this topic. Know the role of each node + VXLAN and LISP.

And very valuable tip : Don’t forget to save your lab (even you have to maniac about it) re-read your answers again.. perform show commands to validate your configuration, for eg, OSPF summarization for any /X like /17 can be checked with show ip ospf topology-info. Use show ip protocols to check the running routing protocol on the router.

Got about 5 new questions but they were easy if you went through v.1.1 and v1.2 questions and grasp the concepts. The only concepts I really do not even care are JSON + Multicast but I mastered SD-WAN and SD-Access and other concepts!

Focus on Labs and it will save you.

Hello, I have a question, some people here say that go deep on the lab, what do you mean by that? I understand the concept and labs I see in this digitaltut sims is seems easy for me, so you mean I should do them a lot or not? and also, for example in the blueprint, we have AAA and ipsec configuration which I don’t see in the lab sims in the digitaltut, so Im a little confused. I would be great if you answer, thank you.

@crypt0nn I passed my exam about 2 weeks ago and let me to share my experience! exam started with labs and it was VRF Finance, I read the task and checked topology and started, it took 31 minutes to get done!!! at home it was less than 5 minutes but in real exam time it was a breathtaking. I had about 30 minutes for another 5 labs! I controlled myself and started focusing on questions instead of just staring at timer! long story short it took an hour twenty minutes to complete labs. now, I had to start challenging with MPCQ! even though I practiced all of them for 2 month I randomly answered them and to be honest more than 40% were new and I had no idea! i submitted last question and saw Congratulation on screen! my entire point is, after i reviewed my results (handed out by examiner) I noticed my score was below 50% on average and labs saved me that day! just practice and practice, labs are the key for this exam

I just passed the exam today, these what I got:

I got some new questions which I think are not graded, the labs have more weight than the rest, so try to practice them. Pay attention to the tasks and topologies, I made some config mistakes putting wrong ip address, but was able to recover it. Always “copy run start” when you finish.
As long as you practice the labs and go over the V1.2 1-7 you should be fine.

there is a minimal changes on lab, such interfaces/port ,ip address, AS number, AREA number

so please take note of it

I cleared my exam today and below is my expereince.
I’ve got 59 questions, including 6 labs, and the labs came first.

– LACP & Root Bridge Sim
– eBGP Neighbour Sim 2 (address-family command)
– VRF Configuration Sim 2
– NetFlow Sim 1 (config both PC1 and PC2 as source)
– Access-list & CoPP Sim
– OSPF Summarization Sim 2 (/18 sum)

The most of MCQs from SD-WAN (10 to 15) and around 10 new questions. I also got 4 questions from NAT/PAT and 3 from QoS.

@Butterfly, you will need to practice questions too. The Labs alone arent enough to pass.

passed the exam, there were new questions related to all fields, automation especially, labs seem a bit different, but general concept was the same. Had a CoPP lab, LACP, OSPF sum2, BGP sim2, VRF and Netflow. thanks to digitaltut team, appreciate all the help.

90% questions same as here, but some of them have rewording

@newcomer I have a question, how much did you get in the composite exams before the exam? for example I generally get 80-84% and sometimes when I tired I get 75-80%, is it enough that I can say Im ready for the exam question or not? I dont talk about labs, I do all the labs everyday and finish all of them they became easy for me, I talk about the questions.

I practiced big quizz only but not every day, may be 7 – 8 times in total
Most of attempts failed :( but I did not care, mostly focised on what was wrong
Then I spent a few evenings prior exam to reviw my previous q & a once again.
In the last two days I simulated exam: 6 labs + big quizz after that, every morning
It usually took me one hour to complete 6 labs and anothr hour to complete quizz
After every of these “exam” I reviewd results of the labs and corresponded quizzes

PS: At the exam I completed labs and answered the rest of q in less than 2 hours :)

In the labs few details like AS,Session #, Routing process can be changed be carefull

Between 30–40% of the exam questions were new. The key is not memorization but understanding if you grasp the concepts, you’ll be able to answer confidently, even when the questions are unfamiliar

What category would you say the new questions are classified as? Failed the exam a few weeks ago and trying to understand why answers to the questions are what they are and trying to avoid memorizing the answers themselves. Is it still SD-WAN/Access + Automation heavy?

@hint You can study all the questions from Parts 1 through 7 of ENCOR v1.2, but try to understand the theory as much as possible. Some exam questions are new or reworded. There were a lot of questions on SD-WAN, Automation, and other topics. I also got a drag-and-drop question comparing EIGRP and OSPF that I had never seen before, as well as a PCAP-based question where I had to identify what was wrong with the EIGRP exchange.

@Capibara Commander Thank you for providing the information; I have reviewed it and will add to my focused study collection. I’ve read that a lot of people know they confidently aced their labs/sims but weren’t so confident on many of the MCQ’s but still passed. Perhaps the labs/sims are weighted heavily as you are expected to take ~1 hour on them. Would be a stretch to suggest they are worth 50% since that is roughly 50% of the allowed exam time, just interesting to consider.

Hi colleagues! Encor v1.2 question 1 to 7 + labs are enough or should we consider also Encor v1.1 questions?

Hi everyone! I’m excited to share that I just passed my certification exam today! I focused solely on the v1.2 question bank and completely skipped v1.1.

**VRF Configuration Simulation 2:** I had to configure R11, and I noticed that the interface connecting to the switch wasn’t assigned to the VRF. This was an extra hurdle, but it can be easily solved if you understand the core concepts.

**Access-list & CoPP Simulation:** There were a few minor changes to the network layout, but the SSH scenario was almost identical to the practice labs.

**NetFlow Simulation 2:** This was the exact same lab that requests the ICMP IP SLA.

**LACP & Root Bridge Simulation:** The topology and switch were the same. There were a few minor details that varied, but they are nothing to worry about if you have a solid understanding of the topic.

**OSPF Summarization Simulation 2:** The required summarization was a /20.

**eBGP Neighbor Simulation 2:** The overall scenario was the same, but the subnet masks on the loopback interfaces were different.

The exam consisted of a total of 59 questions, with the first six being labs. The “?” command is enabled, and tab-autocomplete works perfectly.

In the multiple-choice section, I encountered around ten new questions. However, if you understand the underlying concepts, you can reason through them easily. Most of these new questions focused heavily on network automation, including Python scripts, JSON, XML, and so on.

P.S. While studying, I never actually scored 100% on the practice tests. My scores consistently ranged between 85% and 95% because my main focus was on truly understanding the concepts rather than just memorizing the answers.

I just passed the exam, and I found this resource really helpful. A lot of the MCQs were new to me and heavily focused on automation. The labs were quite similar to the ones covered here, so if you practice these labs thoroughly, you should be well prepared.
