    @ Nagas

Thanks for providing new details of the OSPF Sim.
What did you do to ping the far end router, It is not part of the Lab sim here. Please share.

    Thanks

    @BlueMoon

I see the loopback of the far end router (should be atlanta) with the command show running-config.
Then I go to the opposite router (seattle) and do a ping of that loopback and get a response with five !!!!!

    February 12th, 2020

    @Nagas

Ok, so you didn’t make any additional configuration to make it pingable. You just made sure that it is pingable. Excellent.

Thanks for the clarification. I appreciate your help.

    February 12th, 2020

    @BlueMoon
yes the ping it ‘s just an additional verification you do.
The most important thing is to configure the ospf network statement .
    Then the ping should succeed.

Fail 300-101, what verification did you do with the OSPF sim IPv6? The IPV6 SIM does not let me save, is it normal?

Thank you to Digital TUT and Premium Membership. Passed today. Study MCQ new 5 and 6 and understand the technology instead of memorizing answers as there are a few questions on the test that are similar to questions here, but you will get them if you understand the concepts.

EIGRP Evaluation, OSPF Virtual Link (Copy Run Start not supported but still try), IPv6 EIGRP Sim with different OSPF process ID, addreses, names, etc. Check your config with ping and check routing tables, then copy run start, then hit next.

Agreed, lots and lots of IPv6 for RIPng, OSPFv3 (understand LSA 8 and 9), NAT64, NPTv6.

Hit the MCQ starting at 10 and working back to 1 if you do not have time to take them all, and hit common questions for IPv6, EVN, Drag and Drop.

One note on EIGRP Evaluation. you cannot use ANY EIGRP SHOW commands to find the advertised distance for 192.168.46.0/24. EIGRP Advertised Distance of a route is the Metric the router receives in an advertisement from the neighbor. In this scenario, R2 receives an advertised distance to 192.168.46.0/24 from R4. R2 then calculates it’s Feasible distance to the network which is always higher than the advertised distance as there is one additional delay added in and possibly the link between these neighbors is the lowest bandwidth in the path. R2 will now advertise the route with it’s Feasible Distance to R1 and R1 will use this as it’s Advertised Distance. Since R2 is the only router in the network that accepts “show ip eigrp topology” and R1 shows it’s best route to this network is through R2, we have to use the Feasible distance for this route as the answer to the question. Cannot remember the actual number, but it is less than 333056 as defined in the questions here. In fact, 333056 was an option in this group. That being said, all the other answers for this SIM were dead on, 19:80, CISCO, 20% of bandwidth, and Distribute List using ACL.

  8. RifleSightNotch
    February 13th, 2020

correction to last post. no eigrp show commands on R1.

  9. @Nagas
    February 13th, 2020

So you said just this will be enough in the OSPF SIM?

and validate the ping between the routers that are at the end of each?

    router ospf 1
    network 192.168.4.4 0.0.0.3 area 1

    router ospf 1
    network 192.168.4.4 0.0.0.3 area 1

    Thank you for clarify

I think that there are 2 version of the OSPF SIM.
one version require to configure the “network statement” and the “stub” command on the routers.
The other version request only to configure the “network statement”.

In the digitaltut ospf sim there is written :
” area X should not receive any external or intra-area routes(except the default route)”.

In my question there was no mention of this phrase. So I configured only the ospf network between the routers.

Pay attention to what the question ask you and all will be fine!

What would be the answer ?

Which two statements about uRPF are true? (Choose two)
    A. It is enabled on a per-interface basis CD It is enabled globally
    B. Strict mode is most appropriate for networks with asymmetric routing
    C. Strict mode may drop legitimate traffic
    D. The keyword any can be used with both strict mode and loose mode
    E. Loose mode may drop traffic when asymmetric routing occurs on the network

    Just passed (score 85x) – 55 questions
Labs : OSPF (without stub), OSPF virtual-links and EIGRP Eval (with exact same values as in here)
    6 DnD (2 Frames relay, 2 NAT64, 2 AAA)
4 Questions that I did not see here :
1)- Diag with 3 rip routers interconnected and the question was how to modify the path with offset-list, 4 choices.
    2) ‘command output with a BGP neighbor relationship not working because of authentication’
and 4 choices with what neighbor commands + peer-group password to add for the neighboring to come up
All the rest is here either in NUQ5-6 or most popular questions.

‘output from sh flow-sampler command with 10 packets matched, mode random’
    4 choices :
    A – random mode , matched 10 packets out of 100 packets
    B – random mode, matched 10 packet in 100s
    C- xxxx, D -XXX
    I chose A, but not 100% sure

hello, I just passed it today with a score of 9XX. Lots of D&D almost similar to those on the site. 2, 3 new questions on the eigrp stub topology for example. when the engineer performs the stub command on BR1 instead of the querie, what is required is to view the table of HQ-R1 is to see the learned networks.
A question related to DHCP IPV6 with a secondary link is in which case the latter was used.
Many questions MPQ NUQ 5 and 6 (still review the old questions because some may arise).
Work well on all the questions and handle GNS3 everything should be simplified

    Failed.

Looks like Cisco tests are still adaptive (Forgot). I got hit early on regarding a subject that I wasn’t strong in. Got questions about CEF, FIB, uRPF, basically “Network Principles”. Must of did badly in the beginning to the point where i must of failed because afterward the questions and subject matter for me got more familiar. Most of the questions are from MPQ, MPQ5 and MPQ6. There were some questions that were either new or I haven’t seen (because there are so many to learn = limited brain capacity).

Didn’t get any direct questions about BGP really
Maybe one (max 2) about DMVPN.
Got some about ipv6 and NAT64 stateful
    CEF, FIB and tables
frame relay questions with regard to PPPOE, OSPF and point to multipoint?
got a 2-4 drag and drops
LABs = OSPF SIM, EIGRP evaluation SIM, IPv6 OSPF Virtual Link SIM.

OSPF Virtual link SIM – I didn’t remove the other virtual link between r3 and r4. When i removed the line in r3, logs said neighbors failed between r3 and r4 right away. I didn’t test if r1 can ping and/or see the r4 loopback in the routing table.. i guess i panicked and i put back.

EIGRP Evaluation SIM – the 1st question about the ratio; when i did a show ip route on r1, it didn’t show me the two path output. I remember the answer but didn’t match what it should of looked like

OSPF Sim – I didn’t recall the scenario asking me that area 1 shouldn’t receive any external routes. I didn’t add the stub/no-summary commands. I was able to ping the loopback on area 2.

55 questions in total. Maybe cause they hit me constantly with Network Principle questions in the beginning, maybe the test hit its limit and it didn’t ask me other questions in the other different subject matter?? I felt like the stuff that I did learn/remember didn’t really apply to my version of the test.

    I have one more chance…

    The SIMS I had:
    -Virtual-link ospfv3
    -Ospf SIMS
    -EIGRP EVAL

For Ospf Sim, some detail to take into account like the process-id to respect.
Otherwise the same lab as this site with configuration of the zone in totally stubby. Just the name of the CPE and area do not correspond to the SIm of this site.
@Digitaltut: Thank you for your involvement in preparing the tests. I learned a lot from you.

I recommend that you train on GNS3. The SIMS of this site are also practicable on GNS3 in addition you find them on this site. Finally it does not allow you to understand and be sure of what you do when you configure.
For questions, you have to understand to answer well for certain. I wish you good luck

    @GRI

Please note, OSPF SIM and OSPF EVALUATION SIM are two different things. Ospf SIM requires configuration of the router with ospf while SIM ospf evaluation, it is only to verify information on the router and to answer the questions. Currently according to people who pass it, it is EIGRP evaluation SIM which is presented.
